Waiting for Pelly

As soon as the winter ice has melted and floated away, Sandra returns to the river. With a bag of fish scraps at her side, she waits for Pelly to come back. Many other pelicans stop by on their way to their summer homes, but not Pelly. Sandra and her father are trying to settle into a house of their own. Their bossy neighbours constantly tell them what to do. Unknown to Sandra, Pelly is having her own, more dangerous problems. Will Sandra ever see her pelican again?
