Fees
I try to follow the guidelines of the Saskatchewan Writers Guild Readings Program that suggest a fee of $175.00 for a single reading (up to one hour.) A second reading that occurs in the same half-day would have a minimum fee of $125.00. I require travel expenses for readings given outside Saskatoon and assistance with accommodation if I am staying over.
Subsidies are available to organizations who wish to host a reading. Schools and libraries are eligible for the SWG Readings Program. The deadline is May 1 for applications for assistance for the following school year. Libraries may be able to obtain assistance for the fees and travel expenses from the Canada Council through a program administered by the Writers Union of Canada.
